TaskTimer is a cozy desktop Pomodoro timer app that rewards you as you use it! Complete challenges to earn coins that can be used to purchase new background themes for your timer!

Usage

On the timer page, users can use a Pomodoro timer to guide them through a study session. On the tasks page, users can find a set of tasks that can be completed to earn coins. These coins can be spent on background themes on the shop page. Use background themes to match your mood while studying/working, and motivate you to increase your productivity!

About

I developed TaskTimer in the summer of 2025 after completing the 2nd year of my university studies. It was my very first foray into web app development and was developed using HTML,  CSS,  javascript and electron. 

I took on this project as a fun way to learn new frameworks, while also developing an app I would personally love to use for studying. :)

Installation instructions

Download the zip file, extract it, and click on the installer in the folder (named TaskTimer-#.#.#_Installer). This will install the app on your computer where it should then be accessible by searching on the taskbar. 

The app can be uninstalled by navigating to the apps and features section of windows settings and selecting uninstall.
